October Pattern – The Jonathan Adler Collection

Tastemaker Jonathan Adler collaborated with Formica Corporation to introduce designs that embodied his distinctive take on color, craft and style.

Can homes be happier? Interior designer, potter, modernist author and businessman Jonathan Adler definitely thinks so.

Starting in 2015, Formica Corporation embarked on a design partnership with Adler to bring his colorful aesthetic to our iconic laminate.

The collection celebrated the joy of color and daring patterns with a ‘make homes happier’ theme. It originally launched with nine bold hues and patterns that embodied the hallmarks of Mid-Century Modern design, as well as global art and pop culture.

The line was expanded over the following year with additional colorations.

January 2015:

Greek Key:  Adler’s unique version of this classic motif was crisp and stylish, made modern in bold scale across Orange, Blue and Charcoal colorways.
Malachite: This groovy pattern was inspired by precious stones and modernized with a color vibe, for an unconventional printed graphic in Blue, White and Charcoal.
Lacquered Linen: Mid-Century Modern came alive with this classic, everyday luxe look styled in joyful Orange and Green, as well as Crème and Charcoal neutrals.

August 2015

Splatter: This whimsical pattern was inspired by Adler’s own tie, the concept of carefree precision, available as white splatter on crisp Gray and Navy.

January 2016

Grasscloth: Adler’s grasscloth wallpaper was used to create this timeless visual texture available in Natural, Lime and Slate selections.
Gray Josef Linen: Inspired by German-born artist Josef Albers, this pattern featured geometric shapes in shades of charcoal, smoke gray and white under a fine gray linen texture.
