This section of the site contains six categories of information.

Specifying
Offers advice and help for professionals who wish to specify Formica products as part of a project for which they are responsible. Composite summaries of product availability by surface finish, grade and sheet size are given here. A link is included to the NBS web site, which provides detailed information on specification clauses including standard formats for downloading. Properties
Provides information and data on the properties and performance characteristics of Formica high pressure laminate, including data sheets on the various grades.

Fabrication
Gives technical guidance on working with high pressure laminate: such matters as handling, storing and pre-conditioning; counter-veneering, substrates and adhesives; and machining, postforming and edge treatments.

Installation
Includes advice on design factors, dimensional movement, fixing to walls, door cladding and maintenance.

Special Products
Covers specific guidance on working with special materials: Veneer Laminate, Metallic Laminate, Compact Laminate, ColorCore Laminate and Solid Surfacing.

Facts
Contains, for those unfamiliar with laminate products, a glossary explaining key terms used in the Formica web site, and a set of standard answers to the most commonly-asked questions about Formica high pressure laminate and its application.
