In specifying for particular applications you will wish to consider any special factors that will affect your choice of Formica® product.
Washrooms
• For economy, select from large (3660mm x 1830mm x 12mm or 3660mm x 1525mm) sheet size availability.
• Veneer Laminate and Metallic Laminate are not recommended for areas of high humidity or for vanity tops.
Doors
• For economy, a number of items are available in a special door size.
• Veneer Laminate and Metallic Laminate are not recommended for heavy duty doors.
Cladding
• Consider whether any or all panels need to be removable.
• Configure panels for economic use of full sheets; but take care with dimensional stability and directional surface designs.
• Consider cleaning and maintenance expectations.
• Consider panel edge details.
• Consider fixing method.
• Consider fire performance requirements.
Counter Tops
• Consider surface texture.
• Consider type of use: for example, light duty domestic, heavy duty bar top.
• Consider jointing / edge detail.
General Fittings
• Consider any of the above, as relevant.
